Senior Living Options

There are many different options for senior care and senior living. Each type of care offers different kinds of support and not every community within the same category offers exactly the same care.

It can be very confusing and sometimes frustrating to navigate which communities offer what services and that’s where we can really help you. We strongly understand senior living communities in the area and will streamline the selection process.

Types of Senior Living and Senior Care

Independent Living

Independent living communities are designed for seniors who can manage their own day-to-day needs and desire social engagement. These communities offer group activities, dining services, transportation, and maintenance-free living.

Assisted Living

More supportive than an independent living, assisted living facilities cater to older adults who require daily assistance, such as medication management or personal care based on individual needs, while still enabling some independence for their residents.

Dementia Care (Memory Care)

Seniors with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia require safe, supportive environments and specialized activities tailored to their abilities. Dementia care, often referred to as memory care, provides safe housing, individualized care, and behavior management for individuals with these memory-related ailments.

Continuing Care Retirement Communities

Continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) are a great option for families looking to ensure that their senior loved one has easy access to any medical services they may need without compromising their independence. CCRCs offer a variety of housing types and typically offer on-site advanced healthcare support.

Home Care & Private Duty

Home care services are designed to offer personal and medical care to seniors within the comfort of their own homes, assisting with tasks such as bathing, meal preparation, and medication management. Some private duty companies also offer assistance with household tasks such as cleaning, shopping, and cooking. These companies can also provide these services in an independent living community.

Respite or Short-Term Care

Respite or short-term care provides temporary relief for primary caregivers, offering them a break while ensuring their loved ones receive appropriate care, usually in a long-term care facility such as assisted living, memory care, and nursing homes. Some communities have a minimum number of days for this service.

Hospice Care

Hospice care focuses on providing comfort, support, and palliative care to patients with terminal illnesses and their families, emphasizing quality of life rather than curative treatments. For qualified individuals, this service is available at home or in any long-term care environment.
